Pozůstatkem plánu na kolonizaci Marsu zůstala jen opuštěná základna, obývaná osamělým robotem. Ticho rudé planety naruší česká posádka, financovaná ze soukromých zdrojů. První svatba na Marsu, vesmírný byznys s odpadky, kosmický turismus nebo naivní víra ve výhru v reality show jsou důvody, které přivedly nesourodou posádku do náruče nevyzpytatelné umělé inteligence. Robot totiž disponuje vlastním, tajným plánem na osídlení planety. Film vznikl díky spolupráci s americkou nevládní organizací Mars Society a byl natočený v autentickém simulátoru pobytů na Marsu v poušti v Utahu. Mars je romancí, místy absurdní komedií, existenciální úvahou nad kolonizací vesmíru.

Abandoned base inhabited by a lonely robot is the only remnant of the plan to colonize Mars. The silence of the red planet is disrupted by a Czech crew, financed by a private investor. The first marriage on Mars, space waste business, space tourism, or the naive belief in winning the reality show price put disparate crew into the hands of an erratic artificial intelligence. The robot has its own secret plan to colonize the planet. Film was made in collaboration with American non-profit organization Mars Society and was filmed in an authentic Mars habitat in the desert of Utah. Mars is a romance as well as an absurd comedy at times. It is an existential reflection on colonization of the universe.
